Quantico Marine Corp Base is host to approximately 6,700 military personnel, 6,900 civilians and about 2,500 family members. The Base has been the frontline for innovation of Marine doctrine, training and equipment development since it was founded in 1917. The base serves as a focal point for professional military education with the Marine Corps University.
